Following the recent big deals with tech giants like Google and Amazon, Anthropic just released new updates with their Claude 2.1 model. The new model reportedly provides a larger context window (of up to 200k tokens or 150k words), fewer hallucination rates (2x times) — Hallucination in the context of LLMs refers to the generation of text that is erroneous, nonsensical, or detached from reality which the model believes to be true —, API Tool Use that allows Claude to integrate with users’ existing processes, products, and APIs, and improved Developer Experience.

Part of the release was also a price decrease of Claude by 40% making it cheaper than OpenAI GPT-4 turbo. Here is a picture of the price comparison:

He was also kind enough to provide his updated LLM token-based pricing sheet, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) Bedrock, OpenAI, Microsoft Azure, Google Vertex, IBM, and open LLM with Anyscale, MosaicML, and Together AI. You can check it out here.

Although the actual performance comparison remains to be seem, this seems pretty promising. Check out Anthropic’s release blog for more details. Try it out at https://claude.ai/.
